Greater Houston Lacrosse

US Lacrosse:

US Lacrosse was founded on January 1, 1998, as the national governing body of

men’s and women’s lacrosse. US Lacrosse is the support behind the sport, and

exists to serve the sport of lacrosse through resources, promotion, development,

and training.

Mission: US Lacrosse is the national governing body of lacrosse. Through

responsive and effective leadership, we provide programs and services to inspire

participation while protecting the integrity of the sport.

Vision: We envision a future which offers people everywhere the opportunity to

discover, learn, participate in, enjoy and ultimately embrace the shared passion of

the lacrosse experience.

The Houston Chapter:

The Houston Chapter is an extension of US Lacrosse.

Mission: To unify, promote, and provide programs and services to the many

aspects of men’s and women’s lacrosse in the Greater Houston area. To serve as

a conduit to the national headquarters of US Lacrosse

The Houston chapter of US Lacrosse is responsible for the following:

To serve as a geographic focal point for the education and development of lacrosse. And to bring Lacrosse programs & services to members in their jurisdiction.

Actively and consistently communicate to chapter members.

To serve as the unbiased, umbrella support organization for the responsible growth of the sport in their area

To honor players, coaches, and officials whose skill and conduct on the field and in their and professional lives inspire in the youth of the nation a high regard for the game of lacrosse.

To regularly and effectively interact with other chapter areas in the areas of lacrosse promotion, expansion, preservation, information, education and networking

How you can assist US Lacrosse

and the Houston Chapter:

You don't have to be a coach, official or player [although we need those] to assist the chapter! The Chapter has many areas where your talent, skill or connections would be useful.

Areas the Chapter could use assistance:

Marketing [creation, production and distribution of flyers, video, power point, etc.]
Fund raising [coordinate, host, assist in raising funds, including corporate sponsors].
Writing [articles, press releases, monthly newsletter, etc].
Media Relations [press releases, acquire news coverage, articles, etc].
Events [host, plan or assist in various events].
Video/Photography [video or photograph various events for use in marketing and the website].
Web Design and maintenance.
